On the third day of Christmas, my true love gave to me; Joy in my soul, a light to light the way, and a baby in a manger.
The joy this baby would bring would be nothing anyone had ever experienced before. A joy that floods our soul and fills our mind.
It is like when a Mother has her first child. The father and mother have never experienced this type of love before. It is a joy pressed down and running over. This shows you a little bit of the love our Lord has for us.
He came to us that starry night that he might bring joy and salvation to everyone that would would receive it. This is why every year when the Christmas season rolls around, many people who don’t even know Christ begin to fill his joy.
His joy came that day in a lowly stable and it has been here ever since. We just have to come to him and he will give us this true joy.
(Nehemiah 8:10) “For the joy of the Lord is your strength.”
If you don’t know who the Lord is! Where do you get your strength? Strength comes from the Lord. When we don’t know the Lord we have to rely on our own strength. We exercise, take vitamins and do all we can to strengthen ourselves. But after a while we realize this is not enough. Something is missing. We are ready to throw in the towel. This is why some people turn to drugs and alcohol. They are trying to find real joy.
Are you relying on yourself for your strength and joy?
Or are you being refreshed daily with the joy of the Lord? If you don’t have this true joy of the Lord, ask Him for it today! Except him as your Saviour and he will fill you up with His JOY!
