God Is With Us Through The Storms

I have been out of town at a Children’s Ministers Conference in Indiana and ended up staying an extra night with my friend, Jenny Stainback, because of all the storms. I am going to try to come home today because I feel like I need to be there to help, encourage, and help bring hope to my friends, family, and all the people that have been affected by the storms.

As pictures began to pour into my Facebook, my heart was broken. Avery county is home to me and where my roots are. It is a beautiful place, and the people that live there are even more beautiful. Everybody treats you as a friend. We are God’s people. All the people that I know there have become family to me, and God will get us through this difficult time.
Psalm 100:3 (KJV) “Know ye that the LORD he [is] God: [it is] he [that] hath made us, and not we ourselves; [we are] his people, and the sheep of his pasture.”

Let us remember to keep our minds upon Him who created us. We do not receive our peace or our joy from our situation or our circumstances.
Romans 14:17 (KJV) “For the kingdom of God is not meat and drink; but righteousness, and peace, and joy in the Holy Ghost.”

Last night as my friend and I were so concerned and watching all the devastation on Facebook, an image of mountains came on the TV with this scripture: Isaiah 54:10 (KJV) “For the mountains shall depart, and the hills be removed; but my kindness shall not depart from thee, neither shall the covenant of my peace be removed, saith the LORD that hath mercy on thee.” My friend said, “This sounds like the perfect verse for your hometown and all the people that have been in harms way.”

Blessing and love to all affected by the storms.
