Romans 12:1)
“I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service.”
The Lord wants you to be a living sacrifice unto Him. If we are sick or dead we are no help to anyone. I have heard people say that they would die or suffer sickness that their loved ones could be saved. If we are sick or dead it will not bring salvation to anyone. Jesus paid the price on the Cross for our sins. It was only through his Blood sacrifice that we could be saved. It takes his Holy Spirit to convict us of our sins and bring us to repentance.The death that we should have is to die, is to self. Then we will no longer do our will but his will.
(Psalms 68:1)
“Let God arise, let his enemies be scattered: let them also that hate him flee before him.”
The enemies that we fight are not people. This is our enemies;
(Ephesians 6:12)
“For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.”
If we can let the God of the universe arise in us, our enemies will be scattered.
(Galatians 6:19-21)
“Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are these; Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness, Idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies, Envyings, murders, drunkenness, revellings, and such like: of the which I tell you before, as I have also told you in time past, that they that do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God.”
