Celebrating our Savior’s Birth and Ours!

posted in: Devotionals | 0

Every year at Christmas we celebrate our Savior’s birth. Without Christmas we would all be lost to a devil’s hell. He came to a lowly stable that he could come, walk as a fleshly man, and redeem his people from their sins. We all love celebrating his birth and it is a glorious time of the year. For a lot of us it is our favorite time of the year. There is something about Christmas that brings a good feeling to almost everyone! We know what the good feeling is: it is Jesus Christ and his Holy Spirit moving across the earth and into the hearts of his people.

Just as we celebrate the birth of our Savior; we should also celebrate our birth into the Kingdom of God. When a baby is born there is a great celebration. Everywhere you go everyone wants to see the baby. When we get saved and except Jesus as our Savior we become a new creature. (2 Corinthians 5;17) “Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.” We should rejoice and praise God daily. He saved us and set us on solid ground. This is something worth praising Him about! We should celebrate our birth into the Kingdom of God and try to live a life exemplifying our Lord.

We exemplify Him by living in righteousness and true holiness. Are you living His way? If you are, you will have the joy of the Lord. It takes a clean living Christian to be a joyful Christian. (Ephesians 4;25-29) “Wherefore putting away lying, speak every man truth with his neighbor: for we are members one of another. Be ye angry, and sin not: let not the sun go down upon your wrath: Neither give place to the devil. Let him that stole steal no more: but rather let him labor, working with his hands the thing which is good, that he may have to give to him that needeth. Let no corrupt communication proceed out of your mouth, but that which is good to the use of edifying, that it may minister grace unto the hearers.”

1. Do you lie or speak the truth? Examine yourself!                                        2.If you are angry do you sin not? To get a problem solved try to communicate in a respectful manner instead of speaking before you think.
3. Do you give place to the devil? Don’t listen to the devil and dont go where you know he or his spirits may be.                                                       4. Do you steal! Don’t steal natural things, but also don’t rob people of their joy!
5. Do you work for what you want? Don’t try to lie and cheat to get what you want or need.
6. Do you begrudge what you give people? Be a joyful giver!                       7. Is your communication Godly? Don’t cuss, gossip or use vulgar language! Only speak to edify and minister grace to those that hear.

If we choose to do what is right in the Lord’s eye’s it will nurture our soul man. We should take care of our soul as well as we would take care of a newborn baby. The soul man is what is everlasting(the soul man is God’s spirit living in you). The natural man will eventually vanish away(the natural man is your physical body, you have here on Earth). We should nurture our soul man and the soul of our children more than anything. You do this by showing God’s love to them through our daily lives. What are you doing to keep your soul man alive?
Think about it..?
