Have you pulled up any weeds lately?

Today I was pulling weeds out my flower garden. Some of them were easy to pull and some took a lot of work. Once in a while I would come across a little tree, briar or a really deep rooted weed that I couldn’t pull. I tried and tried and finally realized I  would have to come back with a shovel.

I had a few small trees that I had tried to get up for a couple of years. One day a few weeks ago when the ground was real dry, the Lord said go dig those trees now. I did and they came right up! The ground was ready! It was soft and dry.

As I was outside working I started thinking how people are kindly like flowers, we have to pull the weeds out of our hearts and minds. It may be a judgmental weed, a gossip weed, a hateful weed and so on. What kind of weeds to you have living in you today. We need to get rid of them now. If we don’t pull the weeds out of our flower garden the weeds take over. Before long the flowers are gone and there is only weeds. It is the same way when we know Jesus as our Savior. He puts his goodness in us and if we are not careful we will be like the scripture says in (Mark 4;19), “And the cares of this world, and the deceitfulness of riches, and lust of other things entering in, choke the word, and it becometh  unfruitful.”

Then other times we may be trying to witness to someone that does not know the Lord, a new Christian, or some one that is still trying to get their life in order. We have planted the seeds and we are saying Lord why aren’t they living right? Why don’t they listen? What can I do? Well it is not our place to do anything. We only plant the seeds, God himself will give the increase! (1 Corinthians 3;6) “I have planted, Apollos watered; but God gave the increase.

Just like the flowers we can plant them, water them and pull the weeds out but, it still takes the sun shining on them to get them to pop up out of the ground and come to life. The same is with people, we can plant the seeds in people with his Word, we can water the seeds with his goodness but it will take the SON of GOD to raise them up into life everlasting! Wait on God, when the ground is ready, those you are concerned about, he will shine his marvelous SON on them and they will come alive in Christ Jesus!

Scripture is from the King James Version of The Bible.

God takes care of the flowers and he will
certainly take care of his people!
