GO ON TO THE HIGH CALLING OF GOD AND WAIT ON HIM!
I wrote this book first of all because I could feel the Lord speaking to my heart to write about this prayer I have prayed over our kids for years. At the time I was writing a Christian cook book, until the Lord said write about your prayer first. So I did.
Although I am certainly not an authority on raising children. My husband and I have raised three girls with the youngest being sixteen years old. After you have raised three, you can look back and see all the mistakes you have made. You wish you could go back and do it over. To bad you can’t! Hopefully you will learn some things you should and should not do while raising your children when you read Wrap You Up In Jesus Name! I have included a lot of good scripture which is always a plus.
There is one scripture I want expound on!
(Proverbs 22;6 KJV) Train up a child in the way it should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it.
This is the scripture we all hope for our children. We hope that we can train our children in the ways of our Lord so they won’t depart from it. This is not an easy thing. We have to do our part before this promise can be fulfilled . Here are some of the things we can do to see it come to past.
1. Live a dedicated life to God before them, because we lead by example.
2. Be ye therefore perfect, even as your Father which is in heaven is perfect.(Matthew 5;48) This is not talking about everything in the natural being perfect but that spirit man that is in us should portray the nature of Jesus. I know myself when I look back I had my eyes too much on the natural; basketball, volleyball, dance, grades in school, how we look, the list could go on and on. If I could go back in time I would be more focused on the nine fruits of the spirit which are found in (Galatians 5;22-23 KJV) LOVE, JOY, PEACE, LONGSUFFERING, GENTLENESS, GOODNESS, FAITH, MEEKNESS, AND TEMPERANCE.
3. Dedicate our children to the Lord! We should do this to our children when they are first born. They are not really ours anyway. He only loans them to us to raise for his glory and to magnify him.
4. Train our children by reading and teaching them the word of God. Don’t rely on the church to do all the teaching, it is our responsibility.
5.Correct our children! He that spareth his rod hateth his son: but he that loveth him chasteneth him be times. (Proverbs 13;24 KJV) Don’t be afraid to spank or make your child mind.
6. Don’t lie to your children! If you promise your child a spanking, stick to it. Be careful and do what you said you would do in all things.
7. Put God first! But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you. (Matthew 6;33 KJV) This is a promise, if we live according to God’s word and seek him first, we will have whatever we need.
Lets teach our children to seek him first in the morning and in everything they do.
Our hope is that we can train our children so they will always follow the voice of God. This will allow them to stay out of a lot of bad situtations.
But don’t worry if you are that parent that says I tried to raise them up according to God’s word but I don’t know what happened ? Just remember what the scripture says ; Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it. (Matthew 22;6)
This verse is saying when they are old they will not depart from it. So in other words they may make a lot of mistakes while trying to become a mature adult but at some point they will have to come back to what they have been taught. We can’t just sit down and throw our hands up in the air, if our if our kids are out of God’s will. We have to give them back to the Lord, and press on to the high calling of God, and do what he wants us to do.

Well Shelly this is really good. I hope we have all learned from our mistakes and God has been so good to me. My kids are all doing great and I give all the glory to King Jesus. I hope you sell lots of books and make lots of money. I did raise mine in God and sometimes I churched them to death but it paid off in the end. I really believe God will bring them back if we trust him.
