Memorization and Meditation

The Bible says the world will wax worse and worse. We can see this with our own eyes. With each passing day we wonder what will happen next. Sometimes we think how could things get worse? Then before our eyes we see events happen that we never thought possible. If you could go back twenty five, thirty, thirty-five, forty, even fifty years ago and look ahead to the times now you couldn’t take it all in. It would most definitely be a shock to your system.
This is why in the year 2017 we must decide; As for me and my house we will serve the Lord. I will let his light, lighten my way that I may be a light to others. I will not hide my light under a bushel! I will let his light shine fourth in me. I will eat of his word that I might become what I have eaten! I want to be a servant of Jesus Christ! Jesus came to serve others. For some reason a lot of Christians don’t want to serve because they want to be the leader. They want to be in the front seat driving the car and have Jesus in the back just in case they need him! In the day we are living in we better let Jesus take the wheel like the song said!
(Psalm 119:11) “Thy word have I hid in mine heart, that I might not sin against thee.”
As time has went on and things have waxed worse, there is more temptations. With more temptations out there we need the word of God in us more than ever. Weak Christians will not be able to stand against the wiles of the devil if they are not prepared. We do not want fall by the wayside. In order to keep from doing this we must be planted firmly in the Word of God. We must be standing on the solid rock, Jesus Christ.
I talked about memorization and meditation last week but the Lord wanted me to do it again! It cannot be stressed enough how important it is to learn and study his word. It is when we study, pray, and meditate on his word that the Lord starts speaking to our hearts and minds. If he is not speaking to you, chances are you are not spending enough time with him. When is the last time you let him have his way in your life, forgetting the cares of this world!
(Psalm 119;47-50) “And I will delight myself in thy commandments, which I have loved. My hands also will I lift up unto thy commandments, which I have loved; and I will meditate in thy statutes. Remember the word unto thy servant, upon which thou hast caused me to hope. This is my comfort in my affliction: for thy word hath quickened me.”
His word is a comfort to us in our times of trouble or sadness. His commandments are a delight to us if we keep them. We must meditate on his laws in order to keep them! The only hope we have is in him! His word has quickened us or in Hebrew it means (2421) to preserve, nourish up, quicken, recover, repair, restore (to life), revive, (God) save (alive, life, lives) be whole.
