Our Lord’s Resurrection
We must never forget the suffering of our Lord and Savior JESUS CHRIST! He suffered for you and for me. He was human just like we are, having the same physical body’s we do. He could feel pain, anxiety, depression and all of our ups and downs. Yet he didn’t miss a beat, he continued up Golgotha’s hill even though he had been beaten, scourged, spit on, hit on the head with a reed, humiliated, crucified, and only he himself really knows the extent of his suffering. He died on the cross while they were giving him vinegar to drink and mocking him. He didn’t have to do it but he did. But guess what? Satan couldn’t keep him down, three days later he arose victorious over death, hell and the grave. That we could have life for evermore.
You Jesus did all of this and we want to whine over little things like; someone hurt my feelings, someone took my seat and I always sit there, no one remembered my birthday, the list goes on and on. We have to get off the milk and get on the true word of God. Forget all the silly things that don’t make a difference and live for him. Oh that we could truly walk in his ways, because they are higher then ours.
How Do We Walk In His Ways?
(1 Corinthians 15;42-44) So also is the resurrection of the dead. It is sown in corruption; It is raised in incorruption; It is sown in dishonour; it is raised in glory: it is sown in weakness; it is raised in power: It is sown in a natural body; it is raised in a spiritual body. There is a natural body, and there is a spiritual body.
After we die, if we are saved we will have a spiritual body, and we look forward to this. There will be no more sickness, no sorrow, no death, no worries, which will be great. But while we are still living we also have a natural man and a spiritual man. Before we get saved we have the old nature of Adam, and after we get saved we become a new creature and we should manifest the nature of Jesus Christ. (1 Corinthians 15;47) The first man is of the earth, earthy: the second man is the Lord from heaven.
This does not happen over night but we have to die daily to the flesh. Jesus was crucified on the cross and we must crucify the flesh by not giving in to our fleshly desires or satan’s tricks. Before we get saved we are dead in our sins, after we get saved we are resurrected from the dead. After we get saved the devil can no longer hold us down as long as we keep our eyes focused on Jesus. (John 5;8) “Jesus saith unto him, Rise, take up thy bed, and walk. Here Jesus is telling an impotent man to get up and walk. Some of us were sin sick and Jesus said; take up thy bed and walk. Are we still walking toward him or are we going in the wrong direction?
Before we got saved we were sown in corruption, we were corrupt with worldly values and morals; after we get saved we are raised in incorruption so we will no longer sow to the flesh but we will sow to the spirit by trying to please our Lord. We were sown in dishonour and raised in his glory. No longer will we dishonour our own body’s but we will use them to glorify him. We are sown in weakness but raised in his power. We are no longer weak but,”I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.” (Philippians 4;13)
(1 Corinthians 15;49)And as we have borne the image of the earthy, we shall also bear the image of the heavenly.
We should be baring the image of our Heavenly Father. Don’t try to pattern yourself after a person, wether it is a preacher, a movie star or a singer, but pattern yourself after the only perfect one, Jesus Christ.
(1 Corinthians 15:50) Now this I say, brethren, that flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God; neither doth corruption inherit incorruption.
Our spiritual man is the one we need to nurture. We should be filling our spiritual man up with the word of God and strengthening him through prayer. Riding ourselves of all unrighteousness that we will be found worthy to inherit the kingdom of God.
